Apple Lau began her entrepreneurial journey in her early twenties, founding an advertising company before most of her peers had settled into careers. In the 1980s she moved to Japan — developing deep business relationships and a fluency in Japanese-style manufacturing precision that would shape everything to come.
In the 1990s she founded BIG ECHO (大迴音), a private-room karaoke chain modelled on Japanese entertainment culture. At its peak it operated multiple Hong Kong outlets — an early demonstration of her ability to read consumer trends, import a concept, and scale it. SARS in 2003 closed those doors, and brought personal loss with it.
COVID-19 deepened that reckoning. With over 40 years in entrepreneurship and an enduring connection to Japan's biotech ecosystem, Apple founded 雅柏環球有限公司 (Elppa Global) — channelling decades of experience into a mission: bring the world's most rigorously formulated supplements to people who refuse to leave their health to chance.

E-SEIDO was founded by chemist Sato Kazuo in 1973, initially in Taiwan and later expanded across the region.
